How do I publish a story?
Sign in and click Publish a Story. Give it a title and a category, write or paste your story, and click Publish. Until you publish, it's a draft that only you can see, and it saves automatically as you write.
How do I edit a story or add chapters?
Go to your Dashboard and click the story. From there you can change the details, edit the text, and add new chapters. Changes to a published story show up for readers right away.
Can I delete a story?
A draft you never published is deleted right away. A story that has been published works a little differently: deleting it hides it from readers immediately, and our team finishes the removal shortly after. That protects you from losing work by accident. If you change your mind before then, publish it again or contact us.
What if I click “New Story” and it shows an old draft?
If you started a story and didn’t finish it, the New Story page brings that draft back so you don’t lose it. “Discard draft” clears it and gives you a blank page. It only ever affects an unpublished draft, never a story you’ve already published.
Can I delete comments on my stories?
Yes. On your own stories you’ll see a “Delete” link under each comment. Deleting a comment also removes any replies to it. You can only delete comments on your own stories. If a comment looks like real-world harm (for example, someone offering abuse material or spam), please report it too, so we can deal with the account behind it.
What’s the difference between the 1 to 5 rating and the ♥?
The 1 to 5 rating is your score for a story. You can rate each story once and change your rating any time, and the story shows the average of everyone’s ratings. The ♥ saves a story to your own Favorites list so you can find it again. It’s a personal bookmark: the story shows how many readers have favorited it, but not who. You need to be signed in to use either one.
How do I report something?
We don’t pre-screen or police what people post, so we depend on readers and authors to tell us when something crosses the line, and we really appreciate it. Use the small “Report” link under any comment, or “Report this story” at the bottom of a story. Reports are only for real-world harm: child sexual abuse material or offers of it, malicious or scam links or code, spam and advertising, a real person’s private information, or someone else’s work posted without permission. Fiction itself is never reportable, however dark the story. A report only notifies our team; nothing is removed automatically.
I forgot my password.
Use Forgot password on the sign-in page. You can reset it with your security question or a link sent to your email. If neither works, the same page lets you ask us for help.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings and request account deletion. Your stories are hidden right away, and the account is removed once our team processes it. If you change your mind before then, let us know.
Does SmutLib cost anything?
No. Reading and publishing on SmutLib are free, with no ads.
